After watching the Brain video

The part that interested me the most was how changes in our physique led to changes in our brain, and vice versa, throughout our history of evolution. I'd read an article before on how learning to stand up straight played a huge part in out development as humans (incidentally, our ability to jog was important to standing straight), and the topic has always interested me. The intricacy of the brain was difficult to even imagine - how scientists manage to make sense out of that tangle of neurons, i can't think. I liked the images they showed of the brain and neurons. The analogy of the termite nest was interesting (I never knew the queen had even less intelligence than the workers).
That the size and complexity of the brain is proportional to the complexity of social structure was interesting: I'd heard before that much of our intelligence evolved to deal with the complexities of social intercourse, but I hadn't really thought of social interactions as being a key factor to intelligence with animals. The bit about consciousness intrigued me very much; exactly what makes a person unique, makes choices, and be the essence of who he/she is has always been a rather elusive question. Even the video did not precisely define the concept of consciousness.
